Dell Inspiron 5150

The Dell Inspiron 5150 is a well made Laptop by a top manufacturer. Four hours battery usage possible. Excellant performance. Well built. Dell technology always up to date. Though it's slightly heavier than average.

Fujitsu Siemens Amilo D1840

Bought the Fujitsu Siemens Amilo D1840 having purchased many siemens products in the past for my home. I stupidly believed their computer products would be of similar quality. This was a mistake. Paint scratches to easily. Badly put together casing. Battery life rubbish & the front left hand area of the keyboard becomes almost to hot to touch when left running for several hours. Many of my collegues use apple products which are far superior for the money. When I contacted fujitsu siemens customer support I felt they did not listen to the issues I had with their product. Not recommended.

HP Compaq Evo N800V

The HP Compaq Evo N800V, surely my most intelligent purchase to date! I LOVE this laptop, it is so stylish and light. I got mine with a 40 MB hard drive and 256mb of RAM and I'm so happy. It looks fantastic and it is fantastic. I use mine for work and at home as a desktop. The Kids even play games on it. I really wanted top give it a 10/10 but there are some better laptops out there (though they cost more) so I thought I'd go for a 9.

IBM Thinkpad 380ED

The IBM Thinkpad 380ED is one tough Laptop that keeps on working without any errors or crashes,It's built like a tank, I've drop it(not that I wanted too),and used it hard,from indoors to outdoors and out in the fields for Research use and Emergency Response work using GPS and APRS.I'm getting another one so it won't look so rough looking on the outside casing.Got 3 computers ,two on WinXP,one on Win98 and i'm always coming back to this one,the IBM 380 XD.Excellent feel and the Display is better than my best Desktop monitors.

Packard Bell 5581

I owned a Packard Bell Easy Silver One and it was fantastic. Upon upgrading I assumed that the igo 5581 would be of equal quality...far from it. It has great specs but is made REALLY cheaply. Just touching it feels as though it will fall apart. Cd drive feels though it will fall off the rails. As the keyboard is designed to lift out, many keys clunk and it is not smooth to type on. It's annoying to play music and watch films 'cause the speakers screech. Power cable keeps falling out the back. List goes on. I have owned it for 5 days and it is going back!! Shame on PB for making such a flimsy product. It is obvious they have lowered their standards.

Samsung V25

Bought my Samsung V25 in Feb 2004 . After 9 months of use the cd rw dvd player has stopped working and cannot seem to locate the cd or dvd. Purchased the Samsung over a less well known make originally as I thought the larger reputable company would have better service provision should something go wrong. However, this has not proved the case with the typical to and fro of correspondence that they don't seem to read and the usual frustration in using their website and phone systems and locating help.

Sony FX505

I like this particular sony FX505 model laptop as it has a bloody good spec and has Sony quality. The Athron processor is everything you need and it is not necessary to spend big bucks on the GR-series laptops which are almost double in price mainly because of the intel processor. 15" screen is amazing and grat resolution. 30GB is more then enough for anyone and 1200MGz means superfast speed. Brilliant - now go and buy one..........c ya.

Toshiba 2410-S403

The Toshiba 2410-S403 has a CDRW, DVD writer, 512 RAM, Infrared port, price - 1499 euro, easy install, and it looks nice. The speakers are however a bit noisy/scratchy at maximum volume level. It's excellent, but I've only had it for a week. We'll see.

Compaq Armada M700

I have now had over 10 laptops, all different brands, none have ever been as bad as this NEC Versa S900. I had it for two weeks before it failed to work, it was then sent away for over a month (it had over 60% of components replaced)it arrived back and still did not work. I have now had this computer for 7 months and used it for two! This is a business computer, bought from NEC direct who really couldn't care less. My advice is computers are a large market with much choice, so what ever you do, do not buy an NEC from NEC. Good Luck

HP ZD7000

I got this HP ZD7000 a week before ship date and this system rocks runing unreal 2003 in high rez faster then my desktop running at 2.6Ht 800 fsb with a gig My laptop is a 3.06Ht with 1 gig of 2 512 sticks of centon after market as hp wants to much for memory upgrades and when instaling xp pro over xp home I had a problem with the usb ports and when i called hp I was answerd in 4 min and he stayed with me for 45 min till my problem was solved
